Hello!! It's been awhile since I've updated this space because I've just started my university life and it's way busier than what I expected. :")

Today, I will be doing an update on my IPL progress since I haven't done so for quite some time!

Just to recap, I am an ambassador for Black Peony, a beauty salon where I get my IPL treatments done for my arms, and IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light, which is a form of light therapy used for various dermatological procedures including hair removal. Went for my 4th session previously and here's an obligatory shot HAHA.

The beautician took photos of my progress each time I visit, so you can also check out mine and other people's progress on Black Peony's Facebook page!

Standard procedure: applying cool gel to give the skin a numbing effect before the using the IPL machine to administer the 'shots'! Don't worry, the 'shots' are non-invasive and painless!

As mentioned before, hair growth reduction happens progressively and usually observed after 4 to 8 sessions. I wasn't expecting much but its only been 4 sessions and I've already noticed some difference!!

I think the most visible difference here is the amount of hair. From the photos, you can see that there is way lesser hair after the 4th IPL session as compared to before going for IPL! Each strain also became lighter in color and thinner in texture.

I also did not shave my arms in between appointments (most people would shave/wax) and if you look closely, you can also see some bald spots!

In real life, the difference is also pretty obvious because I do have friends that commented on my arms, saying that they looked way less hairy than before. To be honest, that was a good feeling HAHAHA because usually, people would be telling me how hairy I am instead. :")

Right now, I'm feeling really optimistic about my IPL progress since I've witnessed such a huge difference!! Ok la maybe to you not really huge but as someone who had really hairy arms, this is really a big difference hehe.

Black Peony: IPL Treatment

I went back to Black Peony for my second IPL treatment earlier this month and just a recap, Black Peony is the beauty salon that I go to to get IPL treatment done for my arms.

IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light, which is a form of light therapy used for various dermatological procedures including hair removal. As mentioned before, hair growth reduction happens progressively and usually observed after 4 to 8 sessions, so there isn't really any visible progress for me so far since I only had 2 sessions HAHA.

The salon also had their renovation completed recently!

Black Peony also offers waxing services other than IPL treatments. They also do nails, so it is kind of like a one stop salon for your beauty fixes.

For each treatment, a generous layer of cold gel will be applied on to the treatment areas to help numb the areas before using the IPL machine for the actual process.

For the past 2 sessions, both were really fuss-free and quick. I think it took like, less than 20 minutes so you can still fit a session into your day even if you're busy. You can go during lunch and still have time to actually eat lunch HAHA. But of course if you are doing the treatment for more than one area, it would take up more time.

Black Peony: Virgin IPL experience

I have always been a hairy person since young. Bushy eyebrows, hairy arms, hairy legs, etc etc. Almost everyone has something that they are insecure about and as for me, this is one of the insecurities that I have. While I have learned how to fix my eyebrows and appreciate the fact that at least I have eyebrows to work with, my hairy arms and legs were still a concern.

I have dark and long arm and leg hairs and it is really obvious in real life, most of the times visible in photos. Almost all of my friends have commented on my arm and leg hairs, and while most of the time it's not an unpleasan comment, it has always bothered me.

It's a hassle to shave and wax as you have to do it frequently. However, when I learned about IPL, I knew that it was something I want to do when I have the money, to get rid of these unsightly hairs.

Buddha must me on my side for this one lmao because I was scrolling through facebook and I happened to see Black Peony looking for ambassadors for their salon.

So here it is: My virgin IPL session for my arms at Black Peony!

If you haven't heard of IPL, which stands for Intense Pulsed Light, it is a form of light therapy used for various dermatological procedures including hair removal. IPL works by emitting a wavelength into the skin, which in the case of hair removal targets pigment. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair. It quickly turns to heat which then kills the growing cells that make the hair. In short, IPL helps to permanently reduce and eventually stop hair growth.

Black Peony is a premier beauty salon in Singapore that offers a wide range of hair removal and nails services. A plus point is that the salon uses the Vagaro system which allows customers to book their appointments online, making this process so much more convenient and flexible.

Upon arrival at Black Peony, I was brought into a cozy room and asked to change into a gown.

The IPL treatment process is actually really quick and simple. A generous layer cold gel was applied to my arms to help numb the area and shots are administered using the IPL machine.

I know the term "shots" sounds really scary, but it is a non-invasive process and I did not experience any pain or sensation. When I was googling online about IPL, I saw some reviews that they felt pain or tingling sensations from the shots but honestly, I did not feel any of these at all? However, as I am doing IPL for my arms, I am not sure about other areas that are more sensitive such as the face or Brazilian area.

It is important to note that you will not immediately become hairless after the first IPL treatment because IPL works on reducing hair growth progressively over several sessions. As such, I will be returning to Black Peony for my subsequent IPL treatment sessions and I will be updating here about the progress. So do check back to see if it works for yourself!

Review: Bellezza Aesthetics

Hi guys!

My ct2s are finally over and even though I think I did quite badly, I guess I'm relieved that it's over and I can relax for a little even though prelims are coming up pretty soon. ):

So while I was studying for my ct2s over the June Holidays, Bellezza Aesthetics invited me for a facial treatment which was just what I needed because I was so stressed that my face was a mess.

Bellezza Aesthetics is a place that provides beauty treatments for face, eyes and body. The word 'Bellezza' means beauty in Italian.

The place was well furnished and looked really elegant. I love the interior design and decorations, which has quite a different feel from other facial salons, like more posh?

Before the treatment, one of the beauticians brought me to this little room where I had to fill up a customer particular and medical history form.

I was also served some light refreshment and I really enjoyed the biscoff HAHA.

After enjoying the biscoff and the really fragrant tea, I was brought to the treatment room which had a really relaxing vibe and the aroma in the room did helped me to feel relaxed. I was told to change into the grown and I liked that it was the button type instead of the velcro HAHA just a personal preference! There is also a full wardrobe for your to place your belongings.

Okay now I'm going to attempt to recall the steps because the whole time I felt really relaxed and enjoyed the moment instead of being aware of what the beautician is doing to my face HAHA. The facial started with the usual removal of makeup and cleansing. After that, she went on with extraction which I really needed because I had so many little bumps on my forehead that I really wanted to get rid of. Like any other extractions, there are definitely areas that will hurt but I could deal with the pain so I just let her finish up the extractions and there weren't any scars left behind!

She also offered to trim my eyebrows and I was like why not??? She can definitely do a better job at trimming my eyebrows than myself because I honestly suck at it.

During the process she asked me about my concerns about my skin and she also noticed some fine lines on my forehead as well dull skin so she recommended me the Oxy-jet. It is great for treating acne, blemish skin and also benefits skin with fine lines and loss of vitality.

After that, she went on with messaging my face and shoulders which was really comfortable and you can feel that they are really well trained!

I was also given the Silky Collagen Royal Hand treatment which comes with a hand massage that was really good too especially after writing so much while studying, and hot mask using plant placenta collagen. My hands were significantly brighter and smoother.

After that she left the room and since I couldn't move my hands and I was feeling really comfortable, I fell asleep and the most embarrassing thing was that I SNORED WTF I usually snore when my nose is blocked and omg like I can hear myself snore but I couldn't stop it since I kept falling asleep and when I woke up the beautician was already in the room so I was like oh crap she heard it.

My really sleepy face after the treatment since I slept and can you look how tidy my eyebrows are HAHA and my skin looks clearer!

I was left alone to change back and she brought me back to the room where light refreshment was served again! They really know how to make you feel pampered and pay attention to all the small details.

I went to the toilet afterwards and to like look at my face HAHA and I can see that most of the bumps have disappeared and my face wasn't as dull as before! Even my friend who saw me after my facial commented that my face looks brighter.

This means that I had higher confidence and I believe it would help me better in other areas as well, like in school.

4. Learn how to maintain amicable relationship with your co workers and higher ups

There is usually a manager, supervisor or even a boss at your work place and even though these are the people that will command you around and scold you, these are also the people that will tell your future employers the attitude you have at work. Hence, even though you dislike them, you still need to maintain a good relationship with them.

Building an amicable relationship with your co workers are important as well because they can be the people that will help you when you get into trouble in work, and they can also be the people that get you into trouble instead! So the best is to be friendly with them so you don't get backstabbed!

So start learning how to build relationships with the people around you at work and this will help you to learn to deal with them next time when you get into the working life.

My experience at my part time job was great even though it was only for a short period. There were definitely times that I was really frustrated or stressed but all these cleared out in the end and shaped myself to be a better worker or even person haha!

Benzac AC Gel 5%

So recently, sample store sent me some products to try out and I really excited!

Sample store sent me products from the Benzac range that targets at treating acne! It was perfect because I was battling with stubborn acne.

The Benzac product range is a full set of acne solutions that consist of three treatment water-based gels in different strengths and five cleansers that comes in scrub, liquid and foam formats.

Benzac products are available in National Skin Centre, selected Guardian, Unity and Watsons stores.

Twice a week, i'll start my routine by using the Benzac Facial Scrub to exfoliate my skin.

Benzac Facial Scrub, 60ml, SGD 10.90

My face feels really clean after using this, but the down side to this product is that I don't really like the smell. ): But given it's effect, I'm fine with it haha.

After using the facial scrub, I'll wash my face with the Benzac cleanser that is meant for oily to combination skin!

Benzac Daily Facial Liquid Cleanser, Oily to Combination Skin, 120ml, SGD 12.90

You know how sometimes your face feels so dry and stripped after using cleanser? That's actually not good for your skin and this product definitely does not do that! The Benzac cleanser are formulated with herbal plant extracts like Calendula and Aloe Vera for effective and gentle cleansing, which is so much better and a treat for our skin!

The Benzac Cleansers come in liquid and foam formats, also for sensitive to normal skin, and are recommended to be used jointly with Benzac AC Gels which is the next product I use in my skin care regime!

Benzac AC Gel 5%, Moderate Strength, 60g, SGD 17.50

This gel aids in the treatment of acne and is available in 3 strengths for topical application. I was given the one in moderate strength and I must say it's really effective! Please always start using the gel with a lower strength gel and refer to the leaflet inside which will tell you more! Also there's no smell to it and it blends into your skin so you don't have to worry about it being visible when you're going out etc!

Benzac AC Gel is a spot treatment and should only be applied to affected areas, so don't be kiasu and go apply your whole face okay haha.

In my opinion, I think that this product works the best for me because there are times when I just use my body soap to wash my face while bathing (PLEASE DON'T DO THIS OMG I'M LAZY THAT'S WHY) instead of the liquid cleanser and I will only use the gel and yet my skin still cleared so it shows that this gel is da bomb in treating acne.

And omg can you see the difference in my skin?! Most pimple went away and the redness from my pimple had lighten so much! My skin had also became less oily, though I won't deny that the products also caused me to have a dry spot but I would rather a dry than oily and acne filled skin!

So here's a few selfie to celebrate that hehe.
