While there were several exciting and happy moments, 2016 was quite a boring and tiring year as a whole. In 2016, as a J2 student, I had A levels and other school and social commitments, all of which drained me out physically and emotionally. Basically, to sum it up, 2016 was all about the A levels. Every single day especially nearing A levels, most of my time were spent studying, be it in school, in mcdonalds or at home. Only when A levels ended in late November did I had my freedom back but the weird thing is until now, I still feel a form of stress and I have no idea why.
January
In January, the only highlight (sort of I guess) was VJC open house and that is probably the only time I get to strut around the school compound in my yukata and openly weeb since I am from Japanese club and I needed to promote my CCA.
I took a photo with Tiffany at the photobooth set up in the school and honestly I am really grateful to have her in my life. We knew each other from secondary school and she is someone I can really talk to so I was really glad (and still am) that we both ended up in the same junior college. We don't talk or see each other as often in jc, but I'm glad that it did not change our friendship.
February
Highlight here is definitely Chinese New Year. I don't really have many relatives that are in Singapore and I don't really visit those that are here during CNY because I'm not close to them at all. Instead, I go to my friends' houses and to me, I think its much more enjoyable.
With my jiemeis from sec school. It's kind of like a yearly trend for us to gather every CNY and I really hope this trend doesn't break soon because we don't get to meet often since there is 8 of us (2 are not present in the photo because one was not free and the other was overseas :<) and it's really hard for all of us to meet due to our clashing schedules.
March
The first two weeks of March was mostly about studying because there was common test 1 which I surprising did well at and I was really happy with myself (but not for long lmao).
Our seniors came back for their A levels results and while waiting for them to get their results, I felt some anxiety (of course not as much as them) knowing that it will soon be my turn the following year. Some of us waited for our jap club seniors and I guess most of them did pretty well (secretly hoping that this occurence will repeat for our batch). I remember that after the photo was taken, much time was spent listening to them saying how A levels are easy and so on.
After common test 1 was a week of holidays and I treated myself a week off studying, like it's the last week I get to enjoy myself before A levels, and it really was.
Went drinking with jap club seniors and you can probably tell who were the drunk ones and who were the sober ones (hint: i was sober).
Also celebrated carissa's birthday and I really like days like these where we gather and have fun.
April
April was mostly about studying as well.
Went back to secondary school chinese orchestra concert with the co friends and I was really amazed by some juniors.
May
Guess what happened in May?
Studying.
Also celebrated yisheng's birthday which granted us another chance to gather.
August
August is always my favourite month because it's my birthday month. Also august just sounds really nice ok.
Surprising the birthday person in the morning before school is kind of something we try to do and for my birthday I got one too. Also I get a champagne bottle balloon !!! I still have it in the living room even though it's just collecting dust.
The roses also "surprised" me while I was studying in mcdonalds but much love hehe.
There was also natsu matsuri which I've attended before in 2015 and you know why not go again in 2016 since I get to wear my yukata. Yukata not cheap ok must wear until worth.
September
Honestly I cannot remember whether prelims was in august or september but I think that is no longer important since I'm officially done with school. However the studying didn't stop because my prelims results was really bad and it meant that I had to work harder.
We met up early in the morning to surprise seek kheng because it was her birthday and I remember that we were talking about halloween horror night over breakfast even though we did not go in the end.
October
Besides some intensive studying, we also graduated from school and was on study break until our A levels. There were class activities as well as a farewell assembly.
We look so cute here because everyone looked really happy even though the photo positioning is putting me off.
What can I do without you in school friend.
Requested for the jap club J2s to take a photo together because it will be the last time we will all be in school and I was really touched that everyone is in the photo because not everyone turns up for every sessions and I didn't expect them to turn up for the photo either.
Also helped dillon which allowed us to appear on tv?? My scenes were so embarassing I wished I could dig a hole and hide in it forever when it was showing and everyone was commenting about it.
November
November marks the month of intensive mugging and A levels as well so most of the time I'm either actually or studying or waiting for diffusion to take place as seen above.
A levels ended on 28 November for me and after that was class chalet.
15s61 was not a very bonded class as a whole but I think in general we are ok with each other (at least for me) which is good enough. I think 20 out of 22 actually came (at different times) so I guess this is quite a good sign?

December
December was definitely the best month in 2016 because A levels were over and I was no longer burdened with the stress of studying.
Jap club chalet was great and surprisingly I didn't drink much (I was feeling really bloated). Also I got a hello kitty moleskin notebook from secret santa which I LOVE omg.
Went to Bangkok with penelope and it was an amazing trip because I get to shop and eat and shop and eat and shop again. I didn't really have the chance nor time to shop much especially nearing A levels and it was definitely great to be able to spend like 5 days just shopping and wasting money.
Besides having fun, I decided (while still studying) that I wanted to learn something during this long break before university. I did not want to just spend this long holiday working and sleeping everyday away.
I took japanese classes before after PSLE and stopped when secondary school started, and I have always wanted to continue the lessons but never did because I either have no time or no money. Now that I have 8 months worth of holidays, I decided to just go for it and took the placement test (ended up in Basic 4).
I always wanted to learn how to drive so now that I am finally 18, I went ahead and took my BTT and passed with 50/50 ;) I also applied for my provisional driving license so I am ready to actually learn driving.

So this is my 2016 in summary and even though it was a rather boring yet tiring year, I am glad that I have survived it and made it into 2017. As for 2017, I hope that it will be a more exciting year and of course I had made some new year resolutions, but I will save it for another post. Till then,
