PROMOS ARE FINALLY OVER.
& That's why I am here hehe.
I went to the 夏祭り (it means summer festival) in August that was held at the Changi Japanese School with some of the jap club members and actually my purpose of going there is just to wear my new yukata! Didn't want to waste my money so had to use this opportunity to wear it! I had a senior to be my yukata buddy!
We went in a group but after awhile we were separated to two groups because there were just too many people. I guess what we did most of the time is to buy beer and fool around.
But well I thought that since we were there, why not participate in the games to enjoy the festival to the fullest? So I kinda dragged them to play one of the game together which was the Yo-yo Tsuri! The “yo-yo” is a small water balloon filled with air and water and it is attached to a rubber string which has a loop on the end. To play, you use a “fishing pole” which is a paper string with a metal hook attached to the end of it to try and pick up the water balloon by the loop before the paper disintegrates. It sounded pretty easy for me initially but its not lmao the thing felt soon fragile but luckily I managed to hook one up and get to attempt another try which failed.. but better than the rest who didn't even managed to hook one up HAHA sorry guys. But the guy manning the booth was kind enough to let them take a water balloon too!
Jap club.
We left the festival quite early to have dinner somewhere else and instead of changing out, I stayed in my yukata and even though I got a lot of stares throughout the whole journey, it was still rather cool hehe like how often do you see someone or even get to wear yukata and just walk on the streets/take public transport randomly in Singapore?
To be honest I was quite proud of myself because I was able to wear my yukata nicely! I tried to put it on a few times before the event to make sure I know how to wear it etc but it always end up looking very weird so it was a pleasant surprise!
Since this is a yearly event, I hope to be able to go next year as well! Actually I'm pretty tempted to get another yukata but then again it is expensive and how many times do I even get to wear it?
Till next time, cheers!
