Expect a super long post.

Soooo if you read my previous post on OPOM rehearsal (click here if you haven't), I'm a part of OPOM! After the rehearsal on 27 June, we have our actual performance on 28 June 2014 but we also had another rehearsal in the morning! More photos because I bought my camera and it's the last time we're meeting some people! ):

Met car in the morning at nex to have breakfast before walking to xyp music centre. Arrived and car did some work while I slept because I was super tired. At 11.45am the bus from sports hub came and we boarded the bus.

Reached the sports hub and we went to the waiting room, same as the one we used during the rehearsal! Rushed to change into the OPOM shirt and had to eat our lunch in a rush too because we're a little late.

Sharing one set because we're not that hungry and THERE'S NO TIMEEEEEE.

Huqin peeps! & the latecomer yy finally came ahahaha.

Actually this photo was taken for a reason. 

There this girl kid that is super annoying. Like my first impression of her was super wtf because during the rehearsal at xyp, we had a small full orchestra and xyp put the girl beside me. She kicked my erhu numerous time and one time she even step and "squash" my tuner that's on the floor because there was someone filming and I had to put it on the floor. She even kick the score stand around and I couldn't play properly cause she was turning around and poking me with her gong. OMG FRUSTRATIONS.

Then during the official OPOM rehearsal with mega orchestra, me and car was sitting together beside this P6 girl who is nice and all. The suddenly the girl kid who was sitting beside me asked me if I wanted to change place with her which was obviously NO so I kinda ignored her and in the end she changed place with car. And somehow car sat next to her so I'm kinda relieve at the point of time BUT NO STILL SUPER ANNOYING. Like she keep talking and ask all the speechless questions.

On this day during the rehearsal, me and car left for the toilet and she suddenly tagged along and asked if we're going to the toilet. So we reached the toilet and this girl suddenly say "oh I came for fun" Omg wtf so fun.

Soo when we came back and yy came to our place to tune her erhu and all, the girl suddenly came and I forgot how but yy became annoyed of her very quick (all of us actually) then we were like omg chill yy. When the girl tune and all those her action super big and keep invading yy's space LOL. Apparently she asked some super pissing question thats super guailan and yy guailan her back cause she cannot tahan. & then if I'm not wrong the girl kinda scolded yy? SUPER RUDE ONE PLEASE.

Then we asked yy to move behind us where there is a big space and we turned towards yy, leaving the girl with no attention hoping she'll move away and leave us some space. But no, she followed and came to annoy yy somemore then yy was like fake fake shout to someone "I got something to tell you!" then faster siam.

Nicole and Jiahui came so yy joined them and they sat behind us. & all of a sudden the girl appear and started to annoy yy once more wtf. Then we wanted to save yy and get rid of the girl so we were like "HEY LETS TAKE A SELFIE" and yy was like "YEAH A PHOTO TOGETHER, Y' KNOW, ZHCO HUQIN"

So yeah, the photo was taken and the girl left.

Getting ready to queue and enter the stadium for the actual performance!!

Because we're breaking the world record for largest orchestra and largest drum ensemble, we had to walk through this gantry with three poles (those at yck swimming complex) in order to count how many people are there. So before our turn to walk past that thing all of us had to raise our erhu high up and we totally felt and looked like we're going for a protest since there were so many of us. Then after we went through the barrier everyone had to run very fast to catch up with the rest of the people since there is a huge gap due to the barrier and also the stadium was just in front and we have to walk in "gracefully" since audience are already seated.

& all these makes me feel like a sperm. Really like a sperm. Like how sperm have to break the membrance of the egg (the barrier) and racing to see who's the fastest (us running to catch up). Weird but very funny experience!

& the performance started! The opening song was conducted by the PM (i think? i can't see much in dark) and followed by Blue Memories which was played by SCO only. And since I was super tired and the song is so smoothing.. I fell asleep. Yes I slept during a performance in sportshub and I'm proud of it. Woke up because I felt that my erhu is going to slide off LOL.

Continued the performance with more pieces and my favourite is Power Singapura where the world record of largest drum ensemble was broke! All of us had a pellet drum where we had to shake at our respective part. Even though we don't have the score sheet and we just follow whatever others do, it was super fun and exciting than just sitting down and playing erhu!

After performing Variations in Singapura, they played a short video of the OPOM Journey and they announced that we have successfully broke two Guinness World Records! The certificate was presented to Singapore and we performed the song Home while Dick Lee sang.

& the Our People Our Music 2014 ended.

We were allowed to bring home the pellet drum given to all of us for memory.

We returned back to our waiting room and we started to take photos with people since we won't be seeing some of the people anymore and we had awesome memories together!

We managed to catch the 10pm news featuring OPOM and the whole hall was cheering super loudly (what else can you expect from half of the 5000+ participants). And when the segment was over we were boo-ing and it totally felt like we were watching World Cup or something.

I'm really glad and honoured to be a part of this OPOM performance even though I complaint that it was tiring but it was really meaningful! Heard a lot of funny things ("don't fart on my cookies" - Gao Lao Shi), witnessed many heartening happenings (marriage proposal and fireworks), met new friends, and created many awesome memories! This OPOM journey was really awesome. Was really sad when the journey came to an end and really regret not vlogging because it's a really significant and momorable event!

I hope to take part in the OPOM ten years later, be it as a musician or a helper, and hopefully meet some of these wonderful people again! Definitely not the girl tho ahahaha.

Really proud and honoured to say that I helped to break 2 Guinness World Record.

My June Holidays were meaningful.
