I had actually studded my shorts weeks ago and slacked on this post, that's why it's only published now. So today, I'm going to share with you the studding of shorts before I head to Taiwan in a few hours.
It's quite simple actually, as long as you have the materials you need. The materials you need are basically the item you want to stud and the studs. Just get them ready and you can start!~
Paperbag oversized shorts I'm gonna stud.
Pyramid studs bought from scape. I recommend to NOT buy from scape because it's uber expensive. Buy online from taobao or gmarket or blogshops instead. Unless you have no idea how to, buy from scape or flea booths.
You may want to use different shape of studs on your shorts to make it nicer and unique. First, place the studs on the shorts without poking through the material and arrange it according to your design like this:
When you have decided and finalize the design you want, yep you can start to stud already. I mean start poking the sharp ends of the stud through the material, and fold them inwards with a hard item like maybe your key. Unless the material of the sharp end is really easy to bend, never use your hand. You'll never know when you would injure your finger or even.. poke through them.. just joking.
After studing it!
I've decided to add a few more round studs to make it look not so empty so here is the end result:
Was kinda proud and amazed by it because it's my first time studding and I love the results. I think I'm gonna start wearing this more often (I don't usually wear this cause it's way too oversized, makes me look as if I'm wearing hand-down shorts from a fat aunty or something) So yeah, you should try to stud some of your shorts or apparel or even bag/clutches that you don't use or wear often because after that, you may want to wear it more! Plus you'll see great difference with a small amount of $$ and DIY. Share your end product with me maybe? (;
